These are one of the first pairs of “heat” I ever copped! The Nike Dunk Low SB J-Pack gets its name from the royal blue colorway of the Air Jordan 1.
I had copped these within the first few months of collecting sneakers and wound up selling that pair eventually. Years later, I realized I totally missed these and with some help from Krys, founder of the Vegas Sneaker Heads group on Facebook, I was able to get a damn near perfect replacement pair. The J-Pack name gets thrown about a lot (when these first came out some called them the cookie monsters), but in my head, these are the ultimate J-Pack colorway.
I generally stick with a darker outfit for these. Back in the day I might have gone with some khakis but now I find these work best with a lot of black in the outfit. Today for example I’m sporting these with a black Bape longsleeve layered over an elongated white tee. I paired this with some black skinny jeans from H&M.
How Are The Materials?
These dunks are from the pink box era, and as such, have really nice materials. While the suede and leather isn’t as nice as something from the silver box days, it still beats the hell out of the materials used on almost any SB dunk today. I wish my pair had come with the royal blue laces, but black or white is also a good look on these.
How Do They Fit?
The Nike Dunk Low SB J-Pack fit true to size, thanks to the suede toecap being a tad flexible. Of course, the zoom air insole and tongue straps help provide a really cushy yet bouncy and comfortably snug fit.
